The Story Behind the Band
From Duo To Full Band
Embolus is an electro band from the Netherlands, with the four members Roel Graafmans, Leander Snijders, André Stoop and Patrick Prins. The band was formed as a duo in 1998, and eventually grew to a band of four members. Between 2000 and 2006, they released four albums, including their hit singles Sunna, Are The Stories Right, The Leprechaun and Shave Your Head.
Their style, at first, was a mixture of trance and EBM. After releasing Life Is Over and Krieg Im Himmel, they settled on a new style that is best described as a mixture between electro and neofolk.
Their live performances combined raw, electronic music with live drums, vocals, and other varied instrumentation, for a loyal crowd of followers.
In 2002 they released their first full album, Weltschmerz, which helped them get noticed by the public. A year later their second album, Are The Stories Right, was released, after which the band was contracted by DJ Cybercase, who became their booker. By the time the ban released the album Bluot Zi Bluoda, they had already started doing their live performances on stages all through out the Netherlands.
All Nature's Child, their last album, was released in 2006, and during recordings the band was backed up by a female singer and violinist, who later on also incidentally joined a live performance.

Long time ago on a clear winter’s night, when the moon turned our land in a blue gloomy paradise, the human race was destroyed by nature itself. After 100 years of snow-covered cities and oceans of ice, the last man fell down on his knees and saw his last breath coming from his mouth like a vague stroke of mist.
How did we get so far? How could we be so blind? Was it that hard to accept the power above us? We were too proud, and our lust for power destroyed our own surroundings. We have committed a slow and painful suicide. We didn’t see it coming, but suddenly it was there, like a clog of blood, Embolus!

Here are the four crew members of Embolus, where one is even uglier than the other. They forced me to place their pictures online. I'm sorry about that. Don't blame the webmaster! If it was up to me, I wouldn't have added this section at all.

Back From The Dead
